Restaurant Gerardushoeve

When hotel-restaurant Gerardushoeve wanted their floor to reflect the natural beauty of its gorgeous surroundings, the nature reserve on the plateau of Heijenrath in the Netherlands, it contacted architect Hans Kuijten. He, in turn, decided IVC’s flooring collections had everything in store to make his creative vision come to life.

Luxurious flooring for Limburg’s Gerardushoeve restaurant

Customers can enjoy the views from the panoramic terrace or from the cozy and inviting indoor area, while enjoying a gastronomic meal. To add to the experience, the restaurant’s owners and architect Hans Kuijten combined several of IVC’s Moduleo 55 Impress designs for the refurbishment project.

An adventurous statement

“Feeling inspired by the natural beauty surrounding the Gerardushoeve, I wanted to go for an adventurous design statement, combined with eye-catching accessories and bright colours,” Hans Kuijten says. “The broad range of possibilities and excellent quality offered by IVC was perfectly suited to bring my ideas to life.”

For the Gerardushoeve renovation, a combination of IVC’s Country Oak and Santa Cruz Oak was used. “We supplied 136m² of Santa Cruz Oak from our latest collection,” Arnoud van Ravensberg, Country Director Vinyl/LVT at IVC Nederland explains. “This floor carries a lot of variation, resulting in a decorative and powerful ‘vintage’ look. The hint of blue denim undertones adds an industrial touch.”

Additionally, IVC also provided 20 m² of its Country Oak design. Hans Kuijten: “These rich black floorboards exude an air of luxury. Combining them with lighter colours and statement accessories, makes a bold statement.”
